Stories Among Us We all need a place where we feel safe to open up and tell our story. Stories are what distinguish the human species and what always connects us. Therefore, the project Stories Among Us aims to build bridges between different communities in Belgrade, as well as to give space to those whose voices are rarely heard in public. Stories Among Us are storytelling events in physical space that support people living in Belgrade to tell their story and connect with the wider community. Also, as a side activity, the project develops the culture of storytelling, freedom of expression, as well as inclusiveness and tolerance. Fighting for the right for everyone to be seen, the project contributes to a fairer and more open society in Belgrade. The project was developed during a four-month study stay in Portland (Oregon, USA) as part of the international Community Solutions Program implemented by IREX.
